The black PE film liner protects the adhesive during handling and is removed at installation. Installation Notes

Surface preparation is critical — clean bonding surfaces thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and allow to dry before applying tape. Do not stretch or over-handle the tape during application, as this can reduce bond strength.
