The 3M 7000048663 is a 2 mil acrylic adhesive transfer tape designed for reliable bonding of a wide variety of similar and dissimilar materials. Built on the 3M 300LSE adhesive platform, it delivers long-term holding power on metals, most plastics, glass, paper, and painted surfaces. The tape ships on a printed release paper liner and is supplied in a 27-inch-wide, 180-yard roll format. It is well-suited for industrial assembly, fabrication, and OEM manufacturing environments where solvent-free, film-free bonding is required. Licensed tradespeople and assembly technicians in automotive, electronics, and general manufacturing regularly specify this product for structural and semi-structural attachment applications.
This tape is used in both light industrial and heavy manufacturing settings. Its 300LSE adhesive is especially effective on low surface energy substrates such as polypropylene and powder-coated surfaces that resist conventional adhesives. Typical applications include panel bonding, nameplate attachment, foam mounting, gasket fabrication, and general-purpose part assembly across automotive, HVAC, and OEM production lines. The large roll format is intended for high-volume use where continuous feed or slit-to-width conversion is part of the workflow.
Designed for bonding metals, most plastics, glass, paper, and painted surfaces; meets a wide variety of automotive and OEM specifications as noted in product documentation.
Surface preparation is critical before application — clean bonding surfaces with an appropriate solvent cleaner and allow to dry fully before applying the tape. Apply firm, even pressure across the bond line to achieve maximum contact and adhesion. For slit-to-width conversion or automated dispensing, use tooling rated for the roll dimensions. Allow adequate dwell time at room temperature before subjecting the bond to stress loads.
