The 3M 7000048625 is a 5.0 mil acrylic adhesive transfer tape designed for bonding to a wide variety of surfaces, including low-surface-energy (LSE) plastics, foam, textured, and rough substrates. Sold in a 6-inch-wide by 180-yard roll, it delivers very high initial tack with long-term resistance to humidity, water, solvents, chemicals, and UV exposure. A 60 Densified Kraft liner supports clean, accurate die-cutting operations. Temperature resistance reaches up to 250 degrees F (121 degrees C), making it suitable for applications that see elevated heat cycles.
This transfer tape is used as a general-purpose bonding solution across industrial, manufacturing, and fabrication environments. It is well suited for surface bonding of nameplates, trim, gaskets, and similar components where a permanent, clean-line bond is required. The 180-yard roll length reduces changeover frequency in high-volume production or service settings. Installers and fabricators working with LSE plastics and foam substrates will find this tape particularly effective where conventional adhesives underperform.
Designed as a general-purpose acrylic adhesive transfer tape for bonding to LSE plastics, foam, and textured or rough surfaces across industrial and fabrication applications.
Surface preparation is critical before application — substrates should be clean, dry, and free of dust, oil, and loose material. Apply firm, even pressure across the bond area to achieve full adhesive contact. When die-cutting, use the 60 Densified Kraft liner as the cutting base to maintain clean edges. Store unused rolls in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight to preserve adhesive performance.
