The 3M 7000048496 is a reverse-wound, double-coated tissue tape with a white tissue carrier and a polycoated kraft paper liner. Sold under the Scotch ATG 928 series, it features differential adhesive technology: one side delivers a permanent bond on contact, while the opposite side uses a low-tack, repositionable adhesive that allows clean removal without tearing most paper stocks. The tape is wound on a 1-inch core engineered for use with a Scotch ATG applicator gun. Installers and print finishing professionals who need a two-sided tape that handles both permanent attachment and temporary positioning in a single product will find this tape suited to that workflow.
This tape is intended for applications where two distinct adhesion levels are required in a single bonding step. The face-side adhesive bonds on contact to paper stocks and other lightweight materials, making it well-suited for print finishing, light assembly, and display mounting. The secondary, exposed-side adhesive is repositionable, allowing pieces to be lifted and realigned before a final permanent bond is achieved. The tape will not bleed into most paper stocks, which helps prevent discoloration or staining in finished work.
Designed for use with Scotch ATG applicator guns that accept a 1-inch core roll. Intended for paper stocks and lightweight materials in print finishing, light assembly, and display mounting applications.
Load the roll into a compatible Scotch ATG applicator gun before use, following the applicator manufacturer's loading instructions. Apply firm, even pressure along the tape line to activate the permanent face-side bond. The repositionable side allows for temporary placement and adjustment before final bonding; once the permanent side has been pressed into contact with the substrate, removal may damage the material. Store unused rolls in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight to maintain adhesive performance.
