The 3M 7000046013 is a Scotch-Brite CS-DC Clean and Strip non-woven abrasive disc engineered for demanding metalworking surface preparation tasks. At 5 inches in diameter, it uses extra coarse (XCS) silicon carbide abrasive to cut aggressively through paint, rust, coatings, and corrosion while preserving the underlying geometry of the workpiece. The non-woven web construction resists loading and heat buildup, delivering consistent cutting performance and uniform wear from first use to last. Metal fabricators, maintenance technicians, and surface prep operators rely on this disc for stripping and prepping surfaces before coating, welding, or finishing operations.
This disc is suited for surface preparation in both residential and commercial metalworking environments. Typical applications include paint and coating removal, rust and corrosion stripping, and pre-weld or pre-coat surface cleaning on metal substrates. The thin profile allows access into tight corners and contoured areas where wire brushes or flat grinding wheels cannot reach. It is used on angle grinders and compatible disc tools configured for 5-inch accessories. Minimum order quantity is 25 discs per unit of measure.
Designed for use with angle grinders and disc tools that accept 5-inch non-woven abrasive discs in a center-hole or disc configuration appropriate for the CS-DC style.
Installation and mounting should be performed by a qualified operator following the tool manufacturer's instructions and applicable ANSI safety standards for abrasive products. Always power down and disconnect the grinder before mounting or removing a disc. Inspect the disc for damage before each use and never exceed the maximum RPM rating of the disc or tool. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment including eye protection and gloves during operation.
