The 3M 7000045947 is a Scotch-Brite EXL Unitized Abrasive Wheel designed for smoothing, deburring, and surface finishing on metal alloys, plastics, and composites. The wheel uses aluminum oxide (AO) abrasive mineral integrated into a soft, conformable, layered unitized construction. At 2 inches in diameter with a 3/16 inch arbor bore, it mounts easily on bench grinders, die grinders, and automated finishing equipment. The layered build resists smearing and minimizes heat buildup, making it well-suited for heat-sensitive base materials. Fabricators, tool-and-die technicians, and metal finishing professionals use this wheel for edge work and final surface prep.
This wheel fits applications in metal fabrication shops, aerospace component finishing, and light manufacturing environments. The conformable construction keeps the abrasive in consistent contact with irregular or complex-shaped workpiece profiles, including curved edges and contoured surfaces. It is effective for deburring stamped or machined parts, blending welds, and preparing surfaces prior to coating or inspection. The wheel can run in either clockwise or counterclockwise rotation, which adds flexibility for use in robotic or automated processing cells as well as manual handheld operations.
Designed for use on bench grinders, die grinders, and automated finishing equipment accepting a 3/16 inch arbor and accommodating a 2 inch diameter wheel. Suitable for metal alloys, many plastics, and composites.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified metalworking or finishing technicians familiar with abrasive wheel safety. Confirm that the spindle speed of the host machine does not exceed the maximum rated RPM of the wheel before mounting. Power down and disconnect the machine from its energy source before mounting or removing the wheel. Always use appropriate eye protection and guarding per applicable ANSI B11 and OSHA abrasive wheel standards.
