The 3M 7000045934 is a deburring wheel mandrel designed to mount and drive abrasive deburring wheels in rotary tool applications. With a shank diameter of 0.25 inches and a shank length of 2 inches, it fits standard rotary tool chucks and die grinders commonly used in metal fabrication, HVAC, plumbing, and general trade work. The mandrel supports wheels up to 1 inch wide and is rated to 14000 RPM, making it suitable for aggressive deburring passes on pipe ends, sheet metal edges, and drilled holes. It accepts wheels with a minimum diameter of 2 inches and a minimum width of 0.25 inches. Licensed tradespeople and fabricators rely on this type of mandrel to keep deburring wheels securely seated during continuous-duty use.
This mandrel is used in applications where pipe ends, conduit, tubing, or machined metal edges require deburring prior to assembly or inspection. It is well suited for use in HVAC sheet metal work, plumbing rough-in, and electrical conduit preparation. Die grinders and rotary tools with a 0.25-inch collet are the standard host tools. The mandrel is sold individually and is intended for repeated use across multiple abrasive wheel changes.
Designed for use with abrasive deburring wheels having a minimum diameter of 2 inches and a minimum width of 0.25 inches, mounted in any rotary tool or die grinder with a 0.25-inch collet capacity.
Installation is performed by threading or pressing the deburring wheel onto the mandrel per the wheel manufacturer's instructions, then seating the 0.25-inch shank into the tool collet and tightening securely before operation. Always verify the wheel's maximum RPM rating meets or exceeds the mandrel's 14000 RPM rating before use. Power down and disconnect the tool from any power source before mounting or removing the wheel. Do not exceed the maximum wheel width of 1 inch, as overloading the mandrel can cause wheel failure or loss of control.
