The 3M 7000028434 Scotch-Brite HS-DC High Strength Disc is a non-woven, open-web abrasive disc engineered for general-purpose surface finishing on metal workpieces. Built on a durable, tough web construction, this disc is designed to clean, deburr, denib, defuzz, and produce consistent satin finishes across a variety of metal surfaces. The open-web structure resists loading and dissipates heat effectively, allowing the aluminum oxide abrasive to cut at a consistent rate from first use through the end of the disc's service life. Measuring 10 inches in diameter with a 1/2 inch arbor, it mounts to standard disc grinders and finishing tools used in fabrication, manufacturing, and maintenance environments.
This disc is suited for metalworking applications including deburring cut edges, denibing weld seams, cleaning oxidized or contaminated surfaces, and achieving uniform satin finishes on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Its conformable construction follows contours without gouging, making it appropriate for both flat and slightly irregular surfaces. Because multiple discs can be stacked, operators can expand cutting depth or cover broader surface areas in a single pass, improving efficiency on production or heavy-maintenance tasks.
Designed as a general-purpose replacement non-woven abrasive disc for standard disc grinders and finishing tools accepting a 10 inch diameter disc with a 1/2 inch arbor.
Installation and disc changes should be performed by qualified personnel following machine manufacturer guidelines and applicable ANSI B7 safety standards for abrasive products. Always power down and de-energize the grinder or finishing tool before mounting or removing the disc. Confirm the arbor size and maximum RPM rating of the tool match the disc specifications before operation. Inspect the disc for damage before each use and do not exceed the tool's rated operating speed.
