The 3M 7000026567 FireDam Spray 200 is a water-based, sprayable firestop coating that dries to form a durable elastomeric film. Applied as part of a listed assembly, it seals building joints, perimeter joints including curtain wall conditions, and through-penetration openings to resist the spread of fire, smoke, and hot gases. The red-colored formulation provides up to 4-hour fire protection in construction joints and supports 50 percent movement capability, making it suitable for dynamic joint conditions commonly encountered in commercial and institutional construction. Installation is typically performed by firestop specialty contractors or journeyman trades following project-specific engineering judgments or UL-listed assembly details.
FireDam Spray 200 is intended for use in commercial construction applications where building joints, perimeter or curtain wall joints, and through-penetration seals require passive fire protection. The elastomeric nature of the cured coating accommodates movement in expansion joints and seismic joints. The 5-gallon pail format is well suited to larger-scale spray application on multi-floor or high-rise projects where volume and consistency of coverage are critical to maintaining assembly compliance.
Designed for use in listed firestop assemblies addressing construction joints, perimeter and curtain wall joints, and through-penetration seals in commercial building construction. Specific assembly details and substrate compatibility should be confirmed against published UL or other third-party listing documentation for this product.
Installation must be performed by qualified firestop contractors or licensed trades in accordance with the applicable International Fire Code, IBC firestop assembly requirements, and the manufacturer published installation instructions for the specific listed assembly. Power mixing equipment and airless spray equipment are typically required for proper application at the specified wet film thickness. Verify joint substrate is clean, dry, and free of oil or debris before application. Do not thin the material or deviate from listed assembly dimensions, as doing so may void the fire rating.
