The 3M 7000019345 is a general purpose polyester tape designed for high-temperature masking and splicing applications in industrial and finishing environments. The tape features a 3.4 mil polyester backing that resists slivering during removal and a clean-removing silicone adhesive formulated to withstand elevated temperatures without leaving residue. At 48 inches wide and 72 yards long, this roll is suited for large-surface masking operations. HVAC fabricators, powder coat applicators, and industrial finishing crews are the primary installers of this product.
This tape is used in powder coat paint masking to protect surfaces from overspray and heat during the curing cycle. It is also used for splicing silicone-treated materials where conventional adhesives fail to bond or release cleanly. The wide 48-inch format makes it efficient for masking large panels, ductwork components, or sheet metal assemblies prior to finishing. Its clean-removal characteristic reduces rework time after the coating process is complete.
Designed as a general purpose masking and splicing tape for powder coat paint masking processes and splicing of silicone-treated materials in industrial finishing applications.
Apply to clean, dry surfaces free of oil, dust, and loose particles for best adhesion and clean removal. In powder coat masking applications, remove the tape promptly after the curing cycle while the substrate is still warm to minimize adhesive transfer risk. Use a straight-edge or tape applicator on large flat surfaces to ensure uniform edge lines. Follow the coating facility's safety procedures when working near curing ovens or high-temperature equipment.
