The 3M 7000000827 is the Base (Part B) component of the Scotch-Weld Epoxy Adhesive 420 system, a toughened two-part epoxy adhesive supplied in a 5-gallon container. It is designed for use with a 2:1 mix ratio alongside the corresponding Part A hardener. The adhesive delivers a work life of approximately 20 minutes after mixing and reaches handling strength in roughly 2 hours. It provides good shear strength, peel strength, and impact resistance across a wide range of bonded assemblies. Industrial assembly technicians, maintenance professionals, and fabricators working with structural or load-bearing bonds are the primary installers of this product.
This adhesive is suited for bonding metals, ceramics, wood, and select plastics in industrial, manufacturing, and maintenance applications. The toughened formulation is well matched to assemblies that experience vibration, impact, or flexural stress in service. At 5 gallons, this container size is intended for production or high-volume maintenance environments rather than small-batch or field repair use. It is available in black color, which blends into dark substrates and finished assemblies.
This is the Base (Part B) component designed for use in a B/A two-part epoxy system. It must be paired with the corresponding 3M Scotch-Weld Epoxy Adhesive 420 Part A hardener at the specified 2:1 mix ratio. Do not substitute alternate hardener components.
Dispensing and mixing should be performed by personnel familiar with two-part epoxy handling procedures. Ensure both Part B and Part A are at recommended application temperatures before mixing, and use calibrated metering or dispensing equipment to maintain the 2:1 ratio. Work within the approximately 20-minute pot life after mixing; do not apply adhesive that has begun to gel. Follow applicable safety data sheet guidance for ventilation, skin and eye protection, and disposal of mixed adhesive waste.
