Product Description

The 3M 7000000555 is a ceramic-abrasive quick-change disc designed for aggressive material removal on metal surfaces. Part of the 777F series, it uses a Type R (Roloc TR) attachment system for fast disc swaps without additional hardware. The 3-inch disc runs at up to 20,000 RPM and features a YF-weight polyester cloth backing that resists tearing under load. At 80 grit (medium grade), it is suited for weld blending, surface prep, deburring, and edge work. The orange ceramic grain self-sharpens during use, maintaining cut rate longer than aluminum oxide alternatives.

This disc is used in light industrial, fabrication, and maintenance environments where a right-angle grinder or die grinder with a Roloc TR-compatible hub is already in service. Typical applications include weld seam blending, rust removal, and surface conditioning on mild steel, stainless steel, and similar ferrous substrates. The coated cloth construction holds up to intermittent heat and lateral pressure common in grinding and blending passes. Sold individually, with a minimum order quantity of 50 units.

Compatibility

Designed for use with right-angle grinders and die grinders equipped with a Roloc TR-compatible Type R hub or mandrel. Verify the tool spindle accepts the Type R quick-change button before mounting.

Installation Notes

Disc mounting and removal require a Type R mandrel; power down and disconnect or lock out the grinder before changing discs. Inspect the disc for cracks or damage before each use — do not use a damaged disc. Do not exceed the 20,000 RPM maximum rated speed marked on the disc. Eye protection and appropriate PPE are required during all grinding operations per applicable safety standards.
