The 3M 35GY3/4 is a 7 mil thick, flame-retardant vinyl electrical tape designed for color coding and phase identification in electrical and mechanical systems. Rated for 600 volts and tested across a temperature range of 32 degrees F to 221 degrees F, this tape holds up in demanding service environments. It is used by electricians and maintenance professionals for marking motor leads, piping systems, and safety zones where durable, color-accurate identification is required. The gray color variant ships 10 rolls per carton and 100 rolls per case.
This tape suits residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical work wherever phase identification, lead marking, or area hazard designation is needed. It performs reliably on wire bundles, conduit, piping, and panel components. The vinyl construction conforms to irregular surfaces and resists abrasion, moisture, and common shop chemicals, making it a practical choice for both in-panel work and exposed mechanical system labeling.
Designed for use in phase identification, motor lead color coding, piping system marking, and safety area designation across residential and commercial electrical installations.
This tape is applied by licensed electricians and qualified maintenance technicians. De-energize and lock out all circuits before applying tape to conductors, terminals, or live-adjacent components, in accordance with NFPA 70E lockout/tagout requirements. Apply with firm, overlapping tension for full surface contact and a void-free wrap. Avoid stretching the tape beyond its natural conforming limit, which can reduce adhesion over time.
