The 3M 3320052 is a personal self-rescue kit designed for workers operating at height who need a compact, immediately accessible means of self-rescue or assisted rescue following a fall or suspension event. The kit includes a sealed descent device, a spool of 5.5 mm rope in a 100-foot configuration, an EZ-Link D-ring for fast tethering, and an assisted-rescue ring for use when the suspended worker is injured or semi-conscious. The entire assembly is housed in a molded, padded nylon pack that attaches to any full-body harness. An RFID tag is integrated for asset tracking. Installation and deployment are handled by qualified safety or industrial personnel working in compliance with applicable fall protection regulations.
This kit is intended for use in industrial and commercial environments where workers are exposed to fall hazards at elevation. Typical applications include construction, steel erection, tower work, and any elevated work platform scenario where a self-rescue or assisted-rescue capability is required as part of a site fall protection program. The low-profile, lightweight construction keeps the pack from interfering with normal work movement or adding excessive load to the harness system. When a rescuer is available on site, the kit is also compatible with an optional rescue pole, model 8900299, available separately.
Designed for attachment to any full-body harness using the universal pack attachment system. Compatible with the optional 3M DBI-SALA Rescue Pole, model 8900299, for assisted-rescue operations.
This equipment must be installed and inspected by a competent person as defined under applicable fall protection standards such as OSHA 29 CFR 1926.502 and applicable ANSI Z359 requirements. Before attaching or removing the kit, remove the worker from the fall hazard zone and ensure the full-body harness is properly donned and inspected. Do not modify the descent device, rope spool, or any hardware component. Inspect the kit before each use and remove from service immediately if any component shows signs of damage, deployment, or RFID tag failure.
