The 3M 3100528 is a single-leg, web-style self-retracting lifeline (SRL) equipped with an anchor hook, designed for fall protection in industrial and construction environments. The unit features a quick-activating speed-sensing brake system capable of achieving fall clearance as low as 4 feet, stopping a fall within inches and reducing fall distance at low working heights. A high-capacity external energy absorber and integrated impact indicator provide a secondary layer of protection. The durable thermoplastic housing keeps overall weight low at 2.134 pounds, making it practical for full-shift wear. Installation and daily use are handled by qualified fall protection technicians following applicable OSHA and ANSI Z359 requirements.
This SRL is suited for general industry and construction applications where workers operate at elevation and require a compact, lightweight personal fall arrest device. The 6-foot web lifeline connects directly to most full-body harnesses or to an overhead anchor point via the swiveling anchorage loop with carabiner. The self-locking snap hook on the lifeline end secures reliably to compatible dorsal D-rings or anchorage connectors. Tension is maintained on the lifeline throughout movement, helping to reduce slack-related trip hazards, snapping, and dragging on elevated surfaces.
Designed for direct connection to most full-body harnesses equipped with a compatible dorsal or sternal D-ring, and for use with overhead anchor points accepting a carabiner-style connection. Consult the manufacturer documentation to confirm fitment with your specific harness and anchor system.
Installation and inspection of personal fall arrest equipment must be performed by a competent person as defined under applicable OSHA 1926.502 or 1910.140 standards. Before connecting the SRL, power down or de-energize any adjacent electrical hazards and confirm the overhead anchor point meets the minimum 5,000-pound load rating or is engineered per ANSI Z359. Inspect the lifeline web, housing, snap hook, and energy absorber for damage before each use. Do not modify, disassemble, or attempt field repair of the SRL housing or braking mechanism.
