The 3M 1342201 is a 6-foot double-leg, 100 percent tie-off shock-absorbing lanyard designed for use in fall protection systems on construction and industrial job sites. It features dual-layer high-strength, abrasion-resistant webbing paired with plated alloy steel hardware for durability and corrosion resistance. A self-locking snap hook is positioned at the center connection point, while self-locking steel rebar hooks are located at both leg ends. An adjustable D-ring allows tie-back capability when a fixed anchor point is not available. The integrated PVC shock pack uses a controlled tearing action during a fall event to reduce arrest forces to safe levels. This lanyard is installed and inspected by qualified safety professionals and competent persons per applicable fall protection standards.
The 1342201 is suited for residential and commercial construction environments where 100 percent tie-off compliance is required, meaning the worker maintains connection to an anchor at all times, including during transitions between anchor points. The double-leg design makes it appropriate for steel erection, roofing, concrete forming, and other elevated work tasks where continuous attachment is mandated. The rebar hooks at the leg ends are specifically suited for attachment to rebar, structural steel, and similar construction substrates.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new installation component compatible with standard fall protection harness systems that accept snap hook and rebar hook connections meeting applicable ANSI Z359 and OSHA 1926 Subpart M requirements.
Installation and inspection must be performed by a competent person as defined under OSHA 29 CFR 1926.502 and applicable fall protection regulations. Before use, power down or de-energize any electrical hazards in the work area and verify the anchor point meets minimum strength requirements per the governing standard. Inspect the webbing, shock pack, and all hardware for damage, wear, or activation of the impact indicator before each use. Any unit that has arrested a fall must be immediately removed from service and replaced.
