The RCD p282-0421 is a 2-pole definite-purpose contactor designed to control electrical loads in heat pump systems and residential HVAC equipment. Rated at 25 amps with a 24-volt coil operating at 50/60 Hz, it acts as the primary switching device between the thermostat signal and high-voltage loads such as compressors and condenser fan motors. The contactor energizes when the control board sends a 24-volt signal, closing the circuit to start the load. Licensed HVAC technicians install this part as part of routine service or when replacing a failed or pitted contactor during a heat pump tune-up or compressor-circuit diagnosis.
This contactor is suited for residential and light-commercial heat pump applications where a 2-pole, 25-amp definite-purpose switching device is required. It fits several Carrier packaged system models including 50RVC060 301, 50RHS015 310, and 50PSH070 301. It is an OEM-spec replacement part appropriate for equipment using a 24-volt control circuit at standard North American and international frequencies.
Compatible with Carrier packaged system models 50RVC060 301, 50RHS015 310, and 50PSH070 301, as specified by the manufacturer. Verify coil voltage, amperage rating, and pole count against the unit nameplate and wiring diagram before installation.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with applicable NEC guidelines and local electrical codes. Disconnect and lock out all power to the unit, including the high-voltage disconnect and the low-voltage control circuit, before removing the existing contactor. Match all wire terminations to the original configuration using the unit wiring diagram. Do not energize the unit until all connections are secure and covers are in place.
