The RCD lh680534 is a flame sensor designed for gas furnace applications. It monitors flame presence and stability during burner operation, sending a signal to the control board to confirm ignition and allow the gas valve to remain open. If the sensor detects no flame or an unstable signal, the control board initiates a lockout sequence to prevent unburned gas from accumulating. This sensor is a direct OEM-style replacement and is installed by licensed HVAC technicians during routine maintenance or no-heat troubleshooting calls. It measures 4.95 inches in length, 4.15 inches in width, and 1.1 inches in height, and weighs 0.04 pounds.
This flame sensor is suited for residential gas furnace systems where the original sensor has failed, become coated with oxidation, or produced nuisance lockout faults. Flame sensors commonly require replacement after several heating seasons as the sensing rod degrades and loses its ability to pass adequate microamp current to the control board. This part is appropriate for gas-fired forced-air furnace systems in both new-installation and replacement service contexts.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement flame sensor for residential gas furnace control systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician. Shut off power to the furnace at the disconnect switch and turn off the gas supply before removing the existing sensor. The sensing rod must be positioned correctly in the burner flame path per the furnace manufacturer specifications. Avoid touching the sensing rod with bare hands, as skin oils can interfere with microamp signal transmission.
