The MSA SAFETY 10252230 is an arc-flash rated vest-style positioning safety harness built for workers operating at height in environments where arc flash hazards are present. Part of the MSA V-FORM series, this harness supports a maximum weight capacity of 400 pounds and features a Super XL sizing. It uses a Quick-Connect and Tongue buckle system at the chest and legs for fast donning and doffing, along with friction-based torso adjustment for a reliable, repeatable fit throughout a shift. The harness will not burn, melt, or conduct energy during an arc flash event, making it appropriate for high-voltage electrical work environments.
This harness is intended for positioning applications in industries such as utility, oil and gas, and construction where arc flash exposure is a risk. The vest-style design simplifies the process of putting on and removing the harness compared to crossover-style alternatives, which is particularly valuable in field conditions where efficiency matters. It carries an RFID tag for asset tracking and inspection logging. The unisex fit and black colorway make it suitable for a broad range of job sites and crew configurations.
Designed as an OEM-style positioning harness within the MSA V-FORM series for use in arc flash hazard environments requiring compliant fall protection equipment.
This harness should be inspected by a qualified person before each use in accordance with applicable ANSI Z359 and OSHA fall protection standards. Fitting and adjustment must be performed by or under the supervision of a competent person trained in fall protection systems. Do not use this harness as the sole means of fall arrest unless the full system — including anchorage, connectors, and lanyard or SRL — meets applicable fall arrest standards. Remove from service immediately if subjected to fall arrest forces or if any component shows signs of wear, damage, or arc flash exposure.
