The MSA SAFETY 10199053 is a V-Series leading edge safety lanyard built for fall protection in environments where sharp structural edges present a hazard to standard lanyards. Rated to 310 pounds, this fixed-length, single-leg lanyard measures 6 feet and is constructed with high heat webbing to maintain performance in elevated-temperature work zones. Small snaphooks at the connection points provide secure, low-profile attachment to compatible harness dorsal rings and anchor points. It is installed by qualified safety professionals or competent persons as defined under OSHA fall protection standards.
This lanyard is intended for use in leading edge applications such as structural steel erection, ironwork, precast concrete installation, and other elevated work environments where workers may be exposed to edges that could cut or abrade standard webbing. The high heat web construction extends its service range to applications near welding operations, furnace work, or other heat-generating processes. The fixed 6-foot length simplifies rigging decisions and reduces user error in the field.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use leading edge safety lanyard compatible with full-body harness systems that accept standard snaphook connections at the dorsal D-ring or anchor attachment point.
Installation and inspection must be performed by a competent person as defined by OSHA 29 CFR 1926.502 fall protection standards. Inspect the lanyard before each use for cuts, abrasions, heat damage, chemical exposure, or deformation of the snaphooks. Ensure all snaphooks are fully locked and the gate is not resting against an edge or opening that could cause unintentional release. Remove the lanyard from service immediately if it has arrested a fall or shows any signs of damage.
