The MSA SAFETY 10194890 is a vest-style full body fall protection harness designed for industrial and construction applications requiring ANSI/ASSP Z359.11-2021 and CSA Z259.10 compliance. Built in an extra large size, it supports a weight capacity of 400 pounds and features a single aluminum back D-ring as the primary fall arrest attachment point. The harness uses polyester webbing throughout, with aluminum hardware at the chest quick-connect and tongue-buckle leg connections. Shoulder padding is included to improve comfort during extended wear. An integrated RFID tag supports inspection tracking and equipment management workflows common in safety-critical job sites.
This harness is suited for general industry, construction, utilities, and maintenance trades where workers are exposed to fall hazards at elevation. The vest style provides straightforward donning and adjustment, and the tongue-buckle leg straps allow for secure, repeatable fit across workers. The quick-connect chest connection speeds up harness entry and exit during high-activity shifts. A built-in PFL tunnel routes a personal fall limiter cleanly without interfering with the back D-ring connection. Lanyard keepers are included to manage tethering hardware and keep straps from dangling during transit or positioning.
Designed as an OEM-style vest harness for extra large users requiring a single back D-ring fall arrest configuration in ANSI and CSA compliant fall protection systems.
Donning and inspection should be performed by a qualified person in accordance with ANSI/ASSP Z359 guidelines and the site fall protection program. Always inspect webbing, hardware, and the D-ring for damage, wear, or deformation before each use. After a fall arrest event, remove the harness from service immediately and do not reuse until inspected and cleared by a competent person. Follow applicable OSHA 1926 Subpart M or 1910 Subpart D requirements for the work environment.
