The ICP n92msn0401712a is a single-stage, multiposition residential gas furnace rated at 40,000 BTU/h input capacity and 92% AFUE. It uses an 18-speed ECM blower motor to deliver consistent airflow while reducing electrical energy consumption compared to standard PSC motors. The 92% AFUE rating means the unit converts 92 cents of every fuel dollar into usable heat, meeting federal minimum efficiency standards for most U.S. climate zones. At 17.5 inches wide, this furnace fits into space-constrained installations where a standard-width cabinet may not clear ductwork or structural elements. Licensed HVAC technicians are the intended installer for this equipment.
This furnace is suited for residential forced-air heating systems in new construction and replacement applications. Its multiposition design allows installation in upflow, downflow, or horizontal configurations, giving installers flexibility when routing supply and return ductwork. The single-stage gas valve provides straightforward operation compatible with conventional single-stage thermostats. The 17.5-inch cabinet width is commonly specified in replacement scenarios where an existing narrow-footprint furnace must be swapped without modifying the surrounding ductwork or mechanical room framing.
Designed as an OEM gas furnace for residential forced-air heating systems requiring a multiposition, single-stage unit with a 17.5-inch cabinet width.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with local mechanical codes and the manufacturer instructions. Shut off the gas supply and disconnect electrical power before beginning any work on the furnace or existing ductwork connections. Venting must comply with IFGC requirements for 92% condensing appliances, including proper condensate drainage. Do not attempt to convert the unit to a fuel type or voltage not specified on the rating plate.
