The EWC CONTROLS EURD-9 is a 9-inch round single-blade motorized damper designed for zone control and air quality applications in forced-air HVAC systems. It uses a two-position 24-volt motor that is powered in both directions, meaning the damper is driven fully open and fully closed under power rather than relying on a spring return. A 3-wire connection handles the common, power-open, and power-closed legs. Built-in LEDs provide a visual position indicator: red confirms the blade is fully closed and green confirms it is fully open. These indicators are failsafe-activated, meaning they only illuminate once the blade has reached its complete travel position.
The EURD-9 is suited for residential and light commercial zoning systems where positive blade control is required in round duct runs. HVAC technicians install this damper inline in round ductwork to regulate airflow to individual zones. The powered-close design eliminates reliance on spring mechanisms, making it a reliable choice in applications where airflow containment on closure is critical, such as air quality control or dedicated zone isolation in multi-zone systems.
Designed as an OEM-style motorized damper for use in 9-inch round ductwork within residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC zoning systems requiring 24-volt two-position control.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed HVAC technician. Shut down the air handler and de-energize the 24-volt control circuit before wiring or mounting the damper. The damper should be installed in an accessible section of round ductwork in accordance with local mechanical codes and SMACNA duct construction standards. Confirm full blade travel and verify LED indicator response before closing up the duct and restoring system power.
