The EWC CONTROLS EURD-12 is a 12-inch single-blade motorized round damper designed for zone control and air quality applications in ducted HVAC systems. It operates on a two-position, 24-volt motor that is powered in both directions — powered open and powered closed — eliminating reliance on spring return. The motor uses a 3-wire hookup consisting of a common, a power-open leg, and a power-closed leg. Integrated LEDs provide a visual position indicator: red confirms the blade is fully closed, green confirms it is fully open. These indicators are failsafe-verified, meaning they will not illuminate until the blade has reached its full travel position. Licensed HVAC technicians and zoning system installers are the primary service professionals who work with this damper.
The EURD-12 is suited for residential and light commercial zoned duct systems where reliable two-position damper control is required. Its round profile and 12-inch diameter make it appropriate for main trunk or branch duct installations serving individual zones. The powered-open, powered-closed design is well matched to zone control boards and thermostatic controllers that supply 24-volt signals to both actuator legs. This damper fits within air quality and zone management setups where visual confirmation of blade position is operationally important for service and diagnostics.
Designed as an OEM-style motorized round damper for 12-inch round duct zoning applications compatible with 24-volt zone control systems that provide discrete power-open and power-closed signals.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician familiar with low-voltage zone control wiring. Disconnect and lock out power to the air handler and zone control board before making any wiring connections. The 3-wire motor circuit must be connected according to the zone controller manufacturer's wiring diagram — confirm common, power-open, and power-closed terminals before energizing. Verify LED indicator function after installation to confirm full blade travel before returning the system to service.
