The EWC CONTROLS END-16X10-MA15S is a motorized zone damper built for residential and light commercial HVAC zoning applications. Part of the ND Ultra-Zone series, it uses a power open/power closed, 3-wire control configuration to regulate airflow across individual zones with a 97 percent leak-proof rating achieved through overlapping blades and a positive off motor. The motor delivers 17 inch-pounds of torque and includes a manual gear release for service access. Nylon bushings reduce operating noise, and onboard LEDs provide instant visual confirmation of damper position for fast diagnostics during commissioning or troubleshooting. Licensed HVAC technicians are the primary installers.
This damper is intended for ducted forced-air HVAC systems using zone control. The 16 x 10 inch frame size fits standard rectangular duct openings of that dimension. The ND series is designed to work in conjunction with the EWC Ultra-Zone zoning system. The motor is always factory-mounted on the second dimension specified, which on this unit is the 10-inch dimension. A quick-connecting terminal block eliminates wire nuts and simplifies field wiring. The heavy-duty frame seats securely in the duct for faster installation compared to lighter-gauge damper bodies.
Designed for use with the EWC Ultra-Zone zoning system and compatible with standard rectangular duct openings measuring 16 x 10 inches. Motor is mounted on the second dimension specified (10-inch side).
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician following local mechanical codes and the system manufacturer wiring diagrams. Disconnect and lock out power to the air handler and zone control panel before beginning installation. Confirm duct opening dimensions before mounting, and verify that the terminal block wiring matches the zone controller output configuration. Do not force the manual gear release while the motor is energized.
