The EWC CONTROLS EMA15S is a 24 VAC, 3-wire, power-open/power-close motor actuator designed for zone damper control in residential and light commercial HVAC systems. Rated at 18 lb-in of torque with a 15-second travel time, it delivers reliable blade positioning without the need for ongoing maintenance. The unit ships with an integrated wiring terminal block for clean, straightforward field connections. A NEMA1-rated housing protects the motor in conditioned-air environments, and the actuator can be mounted in any orientation, giving installers flexibility during rough-in and retrofit applications. UL Listed for code-compliant installations.
This actuator is suited for use in zoned forced-air systems where individual dampers must be independently driven open and closed in response to thermostat or zone controller signals. The EMA15S is compatible with standard 24 VAC zone control panels and works with dampers requiring a 3-wire power-open/power-close drive signal. Dual end-stop adjustments allow field-setting of the maximum open and minimum close blade positions, making it adaptable to varying duct geometries and airflow requirements. A positional arrow on the actuator body provides at-a-glance visual confirmation of blade travel status. An optional auxiliary end-switch, Model S1A, can be added when end-of-travel feedback is required by the control system.
Designed for use with 24 VAC zone control systems requiring a 3-wire power-open/power-close motor actuator. Compatible with standard zone damper assemblies in residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC applications.
Installation is performed by a licensed HVAC technician. De-energize the zone control panel and associated air handler before connecting or disconnecting the actuator. Verify the control panel output is rated for a 3-wire power-open/power-close actuator before wiring. Actuator orientation is flexible, but the unit must be installed within a conditioned space as specified by the NEMA1 housing rating.
