The DAKOTA SOURCING 18916 is a 7/8-inch cushion clamp designed to secure tubing, piping, and conduit runs in HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, and mechanical systems. The cushion lining absorbs vibration and prevents metal-to-metal contact, protecting the pipe or tube surface from abrasion and noise transfer. This type of clamp is a standard fastening component installed by HVAC technicians, plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors during new construction and service work where secure, vibration-dampened support is required.
Cushion clamps in the 7/8-inch size are commonly used to support copper refrigerant lines, copper water lines, small-diameter conduit, and similar tubing in both residential and light commercial applications. They are typically mounted to framing, joists, concrete, or sheet metal surfaces using a single fastener through the clamp body. The 7/8-inch inside diameter makes this clamp suitable for tubing of that nominal outside diameter.
Designed as a standard-style cushion clamp for securing 7/8-inch OD tubing and piping in HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical installations.
Cushion clamps are installed by HVAC technicians, plumbers, and pipefitters using common hand tools. Shut off and depressurize any active refrigerant or water lines before securing or repositioning pipe runs. Follow local mechanical codes and manufacturer spacing recommendations for pipe and tubing support intervals. Do not overtighten the mounting fastener, as this can compress the cushion lining and reduce its vibration-isolation effectiveness.
