The DAKOTA SOURCING 13317 is a copper P-trap designed to create the water seal that blocks sewer gases from entering a drain line. It fits into the drain assembly between the fixture tailpiece and the drain stub-out, maintaining a standing column of water that acts as a barrier. With a 7/8 inch outside diameter and a 3/4 inch inside diameter, this trap is sized for smaller fixture applications. Licensed plumbers and experienced tradespeople install this fitting as part of fixture rough-in or replacement service on residential and light commercial drain systems.
This P-trap is suited for sink, lavatory, and similar fixture drain applications where a compact copper fitting is required. The 7/8 inch OD and 3/4 inch ID sizing is consistent with drain connections on bar sinks, lavatories, and other smaller fixtures. Its all-copper construction makes it appropriate for installations where corrosion resistance and long service life are priorities in the drain, waste, and vent system.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation copper P-trap for small-fixture drain assemblies with a 7/8 inch OD connection.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off the water supply and ensure the drain line is clear before beginning work. Verify that all slip-joint connections are properly seated and tightened, and check for leaks after restoring flow. Do not over-tighten compression or slip-joint nuts, as copper fittings can deform under excessive force.
