The DAKOTA SOURCING 13222 is a copper sweat cap used to terminate the end of a copper tube run in plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration piping systems. With an outside diameter of 7/8 inches and an inside diameter of 3/4 inches, this cap fits standard 3/4-inch copper tubing. It is soldered in place using standard copper brazing or soft-soldering technique. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and refrigeration mechanics install this fitting when a pipe end must be sealed off permanently or temporarily during pressure testing or system modification.
This cap is suited for residential and light commercial applications where a clean, pressure-rated termination is required on a copper tube end. Common install scenarios include capping unused branch lines, isolating sections of a hydronic system, and sealing refrigerant line stubs during system repairs or additions. The 3/4-inch nominal size is one of the most frequently encountered tube sizes in residential plumbing and HVAC work.
Designed as an OEM-style sweat fitting for use with standard 3/4-inch nominal copper tubing in plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration piping systems.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or HVAC technician using standard copper sweat-soldering tools including a torch, flux, and appropriate solder or brazing alloy. Shut off and depressurize the system and purge any refrigerant or fluid before cutting or capping any line. All work must comply with applicable local plumbing codes and, where refrigerant lines are involved, EPA Section 608 requirements. Do not apply heat to a pressurized or fluid-filled line.
