The DAKOTA SOURCING 13132 is a copper reducer fitting configured in a fitting-to-copper (FTG x C) connection style. It reduces from a 7/8 inch OD (3/4 inch ID) sweat end to a 5/8 inch OD (1/2 inch ID) sweat end. This type of reducer is used to transition between two different copper tube sizes within a refrigerant or plumbing line. Licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians install this fitting as part of sweat-soldered copper piping assemblies in both residential and light commercial systems.
This fitting is suited for applications where a change in copper tube diameter is required along a run of Type L or Type M copper pipe. Common use cases include HVAC refrigerant line transitions, domestic hot and cold water distribution systems, and hydronic heating piping. The FTG end accepts a copper tube OD for soldering directly into a fitting socket, while the C end accepts standard copper tube.
Designed as an OEM-style sweat fitting replacement for copper piping systems requiring a reduction from 7/8 inch OD to 5/8 inch OD tube connections in FTG x C configuration.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or HVAC technician familiar with sweat-soldering copper fittings. Shut off and depressurize the system and ensure all lines are dry before soldering to achieve a clean, void-free joint. Follow applicable codes including the International Plumbing Code and ASHRAE standards for refrigerant piping when selecting solder or brazing alloy. Do not substitute soft solder on high-pressure refrigerant lines where brazing is required by code.
