The DAKOTA SOURCING 13126 is a copper fitting reducer designed to transition between two different tube sizes in a sweat-solder copper piping system. The fitting accepts a 1/2 inch OD FTG (fitting) inlet and reduces to a 3/8 inch OD capillary (C) outlet, with corresponding IDs of 3/8 inch and 1/4 inch respectively. These reducers are standard components in plumbing and HVAC refrigerant or hydronic line installations wherever a pipe size reduction is required. Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or HVAC technicians using standard copper sweat-solder technique.
This fitting reducer is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing and HVAC applications where copper tubing transitions from a larger to a smaller diameter are needed. The FTG x C end configuration means one end is sized to slip over the outside of a fitting hub while the other end accepts standard copper tube. This configuration is common in branch line reductions, refrigerant line sets, domestic water distribution, and hydronic heating systems.
Designed as an OEM-style sweat-solder fitting reducer for use in standard copper tube plumbing and HVAC piping systems requiring a reduction from 1/2 inch to 3/8 inch OD tubing.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or HVAC technician familiar with copper sweat-solder technique. Shut off and depressurize the water or refrigerant system completely before cutting into any line. Clean tube ends and fitting sockets with emery cloth and apply appropriate flux before soldering; use lead-free solder where required by local plumbing code. Follow all applicable IPC and IFGC guidelines for copper fitting joints.
