The DAKOTA SOURCING 13122 is a copper reducing coupling designed to connect two different-diameter copper tubes in a sweat (CxC) configuration. It transitions from a 1-3/8 inch OD (1-1/4 inch ID) fitting end down to a 1-1/8 inch OD (1 inch ID) fitting end, allowing a single inline connection between two tube sizes without additional adapters. This type of fitting is a standard component in residential and light commercial plumbing, hydronic heating, and refrigeration piping systems. It is typically installed by licensed plumbers or HVAC-R technicians during new construction, system modifications, or repair work.
This reducing coupling is suited for applications where copper tube size must be stepped down within a run of pipe. Common uses include domestic water supply lines, hot and cold distribution systems, hydronic loops, and chilled water piping. The CxC end configuration requires both ends to be soldered, making it appropriate for hard copper tubing installations where a permanent, leak-free joint is required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for copper tube plumbing and HVAC piping systems using CxC sweat connections at the stated tube sizes.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified HVAC-R technician in accordance with local plumbing codes and ASME B16.22 standards where applicable. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before cutting or joining any pipe. Tube ends must be cut square, deburred, and cleaned with emery cloth before applying flux and soldering. Use only lead-free solder in potable water systems as required by applicable codes.
