The DAKOTA SOURCING 13120 is a copper reducing coupling designed to connect two different-diameter copper tubing lines in a sweat (solder) configuration. This fitting transitions from a 1-1/8 inch OD (1 inch ID) end to a 7/8 inch OD (3/4 inch ID) end, making it a standard CxC (copper by copper) sweat fitting. Plumbers and HVAC technicians use this type of reducing coupling when downsizing refrigerant or fluid lines, branching supply runs, or completing repairs where tubing sizes change within the same system. It is fabricated from copper for reliable, corrosion-resistant performance in both wet and refrigerant service environments.
This reducing coupling is appropriate for residential and light commercial plumbing, HVAC refrigerant piping, and hydronic systems where a sweat connection is specified. It is installed by a licensed plumber or HVAC technician using standard silver-alloy or lead-free solder and flux, following applicable local plumbing codes and ASHRAE guidelines. The CxC sweat end configuration is one of the most common fitting types in copper piping systems, and this part is suited for new construction as well as service and repair work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for copper tubing systems requiring a sweat-type reducing connection between 1-1/8 inch OD and 7/8 inch OD lines.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or HVAC technician in accordance with applicable local and national plumbing codes, including the IPC. Shut off and depressurize the system and drain or recover any fluid or refrigerant before cutting into the line. Clean and deburr both tube ends, apply appropriate flux, and solder using an approved lead-free or silver-alloy filler material. Do not apply excessive heat that may damage adjacent fittings or components.
