The DAKOTA SOURCING 13119 is a copper reducing coupling designed for sweat-style (CxC) copper tubing connections. It transitions from a 7/8-inch OD (3/4-inch ID) female socket to a 5/8-inch OD (1/2-inch ID) female socket, allowing a plumber or HVAC technician to step down copper line size within a refrigerant or potable water system. Copper construction provides corrosion resistance and reliable pressure integrity at brazed or soldered joints. This fitting is a standard trade component found in both mechanical and plumbing rough-in work.
The 13119 reducing coupling is suited for residential and light commercial applications where a copper line set or water supply run changes diameter. Typical install scenarios include HVAC refrigerant piping, domestic hot and cold water distribution, and hydronic heating loops where a tube-size reduction is required at a branch or equipment connection point.
Designed as an OEM-style sweat fitting compatible with standard 3/4-inch and 1/2-inch nominal copper tubing per ASTM B88 Type L and Type K specifications.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or HVAC technicians using standard sweat-soldering or brazing procedures. Shut off and depressurize the water or refrigerant system and allow all lines to cool completely before cutting and fitting. Clean and flux all mating surfaces per the fitting manufacturer and applicable IPC or IFGC guidelines before applying heat. Do not overheat the fitting, as excessive heat can damage flux and compromise joint integrity.
