The DAKOTA SOURCING 13030 is a 90-degree copper street long elbow fitting used to change flow direction in copper plumbing and hydronic systems. Configured as FTG x C (fitting-to-copper), one end is sized to slip into a standard fitting socket while the other accepts standard copper tube. The 5/8-inch OD and 1/2-inch ID dimensions correspond to 1/2-inch nominal copper tube sizing. Plumbers and pipefitters use this elbow in tight-radius routing situations where a standard elbow would require an additional coupling or stub length. It is a sweat-solder fitting, assembled with a torch and lead-free solder per applicable code.
This fitting is suited for residential and light commercial potable water supply, drain-waste-vent rough-in, and hydronic heating distribution lines where a 90-degree directional change is required with minimal lay length. The street configuration eliminates the need for a short pipe nipple between fittings, reducing total joint count and saving labor in confined spaces such as wall cavities, mechanical chases, and under-slab runs.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation fitting for 1/2-inch nominal copper tube systems using standard pressure fitting dimensions per ASME B16.22.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified pipefitters using a torch, lead-free solder, and copper-rated flux. Shut off the water supply and depressurize and drain the affected line before cutting or sweating any joint. All potable water installations must use lead-free solder and flux in compliance with applicable state and local plumbing codes, including IPC and UPC requirements. Allow the joint to cool fully before restoring pressure and inspecting for leaks.
