The DAKOTA SOURCING 13022 is a 90-degree copper street elbow designed for sweat-solder connections in residential and commercial plumbing systems. With a 5/8-inch outer diameter and 1/2-inch inner diameter, this fitting transitions flow direction at a right angle using a fitting-to-copper (FTG x C) connection style. One end accepts a standard copper pipe male end directly, eliminating the need for a coupling in tight spaces. Plumbers and pipefitters use this type of street elbow when routing supply lines, fixture connections, or branch runs where space is limited and a standard elbow-plus-coupling combination is not practical.
This street elbow is suited for potable water supply lines, hydronic heating branch connections, and general-purpose copper tubing assemblies. The FTG x C configuration means one end slips over the outside of copper pipe (male end) and the other end accepts the outside of a copper pipe or fitting (female cup). It is commonly installed during rough-in and finish plumbing work wherever a 90-degree directional change is required in a 1/2-inch nominal copper line.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation fitting for standard 1/2-inch nominal copper tubing systems using sweat-solder joints.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and applicable local amendments. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before cutting or sweating any fitting. Clean all mating surfaces with emery cloth and apply lead-free flux before soldering. Allow the joint to cool fully before restoring water pressure and inspecting for leaks.
