The B K Mueller Industries 567-001HN is a galvanized close nipple designed for threaded pipe connections in plumbing, HVAC, and general mechanical systems. A close nipple has no unthreaded center — the male NPT threads run continuously end to end, making it the shortest possible nipple for tight-clearance installations. The 567-001HN measures 1.5 inches in nominal pipe size and ships in a package quantity of 5. The galvanized zinc coating provides corrosion resistance in wet or exposed installations. Plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of this fitting.
This close nipple is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing systems, boiler piping, gas distribution lines, and hydronic heating assemblies where a minimal-length threaded connection is required. The 1.5-inch nominal size fits standard Schedule 40 and Schedule 80 threaded pipe of the same nominal diameter. It is commonly used to connect valves, unions, flanges, and fittings in tight spaces where a longer nipple would not fit or would protrude beyond the required plane.
Designed as a standard replacement or new-installation close nipple for 1.5-inch NPT threaded pipe systems in plumbing, hydronic, and mechanical piping applications.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter following applicable IPC or IFGC code requirements for the intended service. Shut off and depressurize the line before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Apply an approved thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly to prevent leaks. Do not over-tighten, as close nipples leave no wrench flat — use a pipe wrench carefully and inspect threads for damage before installation.
