The ABB INSTALLATION PRODUCTS xc296 is a clamp-type, non-insulated conduit connector rated for 2-inch trade size armored cable and flexible conduit installations. Constructed from die-cast zinc, this connector features a captive two-screw clamp design that secures the cable without requiring a separate locknut on the throat. It accommodates cable openings ranging from 1.51 to 2.47 inches and exits at a 90-degree angle, making it well-suited for tight enclosure entries where straight connectors would create excessive bend radius. Licensed electricians and low-voltage installers typically specify this fitting for panel knockouts and junction box entries on armored cable runs.
The xc296 is designed for use with armored cable (AC/MC) and flexible metal conduit in both residential and light commercial electrical installations. The 90-degree body orientation helps route conductors cleanly along enclosure walls or cabinet interiors. Its non-insulated throat type is standard for metallic raceway connections where a bonding bushing or listed grounding path through the cable armor is used. It ships in an outer pack of 5 units, which suits service calls and small commercial rough-in jobs alike.
Designed for use with armored cable and flexible metal conduit at 2-inch trade size, with cable opening compatibility ranging from 1.51 to 2.47 inches. Suitable for standard knockout entries on listed metallic enclosures, panelboards, and junction boxes.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). De-energize and lock out the circuit or panel before opening any enclosure. Insert the cable through the connector, seat the connector body in the knockout, and tighten both clamp screws evenly until the cable is firmly secured without deforming the jacket. Do not overtighten the clamp screws on flexible conduit, as this can restrict the flex of the raceway and damage the armor.
