The ABB Installation Products xc 292 is a 90-degree, clamp-type connector designed for terminating armored cable and flexible conduit in electrical installations. Built from die-cast zinc, this non-insulated connector uses a two-screw clamp mechanism to secure the cable at the point of entry. It accepts a cord size range of 0.83 to 1.25 inches and has an overall length of 2.27 inches. The 3/4-inch trade size fits standard knockout openings. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors install this connector during conduit rough-in and finish work on residential and commercial projects. UL and CSA approval confirms it meets recognized safety standards for electrical raceway fittings.
The xc 292 is suited for applications requiring a 90-degree exit angle from a junction box, panel, or enclosure where straight connectors would create excessive bend stress on the cable. It is commonly used with Type AC armored cable and flexible metal conduit in tight spaces, behind panels, and in equipment connections where the conductor needs to change direction immediately at the fitting. The single-opening cable entry and two-screw clamp design provide a secure, code-compliant termination in both new construction and retrofit work.
Designed for use with armored cable and flexible conduit at a 3/4-inch trade size knockout. Suitable for enclosures, junction boxes, and panels with 3/4-inch trade size openings accepting a standard clamp-type connector.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). De-energize and lock out the circuit before working in any enclosure or panel. Insert the connector through the knockout, seat the locknut firmly, then insert the cable and tighten both clamping screws evenly to secure the jacket without damaging conductors. Do not overtighten the clamp screws to the point of crushing the cable jacket or conduit.
