The ABB INSTALLATION PRODUCTS xc 2200 c is a saddle-type connector designed for use with BX flexible armored cable conduit. Constructed from die cast zinc, this connector provides a durable, secure termination at enclosure knockouts. It accepts a 3/8 inch trade size knockout and accommodates a clamping range of 0.12 inches to 0.63 inches, making it suitable for a variety of flexible conduit and cable jacket diameters. The overall length of the connector is 0.98 inches. Electricians and electrical contractors install this fitting during rough-in and panel work wherever armored cable meets a metal enclosure, junction box, or panel cabinet.
This connector is used in residential and light commercial electrical installations where BX or flexible armored cable must be terminated at a metal enclosure. The saddle-type clamping design secures the cable with positive mechanical retention without requiring separate locknuts in certain applications. Typical install scenarios include sub-panel connections, junction box entries, and device enclosures that require a code-compliant, strain-relieved cable termination.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard fitting for use with 3/8 inch trade size BX flexible armored cable connectors in residential and commercial electrical enclosures.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). De-energize the circuit and lock out the panel before beginning work at any enclosure. Use appropriate hand tools to tighten the saddle clamp fastener; do not overtighten, as die cast zinc fittings can crack under excessive torque. Verify the cable is fully seated and the connector is secure before restoring power.
