The ABB INSTALLATION PRODUCTS B234ADJC is a 2-gang, non-metallic Adjust-A-Box designed for residential and light commercial electrical rough-in work. It features a range knockout, making it suitable for dryers, ranges, and other major appliances that require a dedicated circuit. The box ships preset at 0.5 inches depth and adjusts from flush to 1.75 inches after installation, accommodating varying wall thicknesses without requiring the installer to cut a new box opening. Wiring capacity is 34 cubic inches. The patented screw-adjustment mechanism and included bracket allow fast, single-person installation on wood or metal stud framing. UL Listed.
This box is suited for new construction and remodel applications where wall covering thickness is not yet final at rough-in. Electricians use it in scenarios where drywall, tile backer, or paneling may vary in thickness across the install. The preset depth of 0.5 inches covers standard drywall, while the full adjustment range handles heavier wall assemblies. It is commonly installed behind ranges, dryers, and large appliance receptacle locations where a 2-gang configuration is required. The non-metallic construction eliminates the need for grounding the box itself in most residential wiring configurations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation non-metallic 2-gang adjustable electrical box compatible with standard wood and metal stud framing in residential and light commercial construction.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements. De-energize the circuit and verify with a non-contact voltage tester before making any wiring connections. Clip the included bracket onto the stud before securing, then use the adjustment screw to bring the box flush with the finished wall surface after wall covering is applied. Do not exceed the 34 cubic inch fill capacity when routing conductors.
