The ABB INSTALLATION PRODUCTS 2690 is a non-metallic liquidtight strain relief cord connector designed to secure flexible cord entries into electrical boxes and enclosures. Built from nylon, it features a segmented chuck that delivers high mechanical pullout resistance without requiring any tools during installation. The neoprene bushing provides a liquidtight seal around the cord. It accepts cable diameters from 0.125 to 0.275 inches and fits a standard 1/2 inch trade size knockout. The temperature rating spans -34 to 105 degrees F, making it suitable for a wide range of indoor and outdoor service conditions. Electricians and panel installers use this connector where code requires both strain relief and moisture protection at a cord entry point.
This connector is used in residential and commercial electrical installations wherever flexible cord must pass through a knockout in a junction box, enclosure, or panel. The tool-free, threaded installation suits high-volume rough-in work and retrofit applications where access is limited. It is appropriate for use with flexible power cords, appliance whips, and similar wiring assemblies that require a secure, code-compliant termination point with liquidtight performance.
Designed for use with standard 1/2 inch trade size knockouts in electrical boxes and enclosures where flexible cord termination and liquidtight strain relief are required.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians in accordance with applicable NEC requirements for strain relief and liquidtight cord connections. De-energize the enclosure completely before installing or servicing any cord connectors. Thread the connector into the knockout by hand and tighten to achieve a secure, liquidtight fit — do not overtighten nylon fittings. Verify that the installed cord falls within the 0.125 to 0.275 inch cable opening range before final torque.
