HUMIDITY is, unfortunately, one of the least understood, most important aspects of comfort conditioning. It’s understandable that it is misunderstood. Humidity is intangible. You can’t see it, you can’t touch it, and it has no color, odor or sound.
Still, it’s so important for so many reasons, such as comfort, health and preservation. Humidity is as important as heart for these benefits. What’s more, it is needed for a greater portion of the year in some areas. Still maintaining and controlling proper humidity levels are not being satisfied. But they can be, and will be, if we understand humidification and the application in which it is being used.
HUMIDITY is the water vapor within a given space. RELATIVE HUMIDITY simply is the amount of moisture in a cubic foot of air at a certain temperature. The warmer the air, the more moisture it can hold.
