The Zurn XT-8 is a thermal expansion tank designed for use on potable water lines. It is positioned between the backflow preventer or pressure reducing valve and the water heater. This product protects against thermal expansion in residential applications. When the pressure in the system rises, water fills the polypropylene-lined chamber. This triggers a diaphragm to extend into a pre-charged air chamber, maintaining system pressure below the relief valve threshold.
