The ZURN qcr7x is a copper crimp clamp ring designed for use with 1 1/2-inch PEX tubing connections. It creates a secure, watertight joint when compressed onto a PEX fitting barb using a standard PEX crimp tool. The ring has an overall length of 21/32 inches and an inner diameter of 1 45/64 inches. Rated for potable water service, it handles operating pressures up to 80 psi and temperatures from 33 degrees F to 200 degrees F. Licensed plumbers and PEX installers use this ring as part of standard PEX-A and PEX-B crimp connection assemblies in residential and light commercial plumbing systems.
This crimp ring is suited for potable water distribution applications where 1 1/2-inch PEX tubing is joined to barbed fittings. Typical installations include domestic hot and cold water supply lines, manifold branch connections, and in-wall or in-slab runs. Both connection sides accept 1 1/2-inch pipe or tube, making it a consistent, single-size component. It meets ASTM F1807, ASTM F877, CAN/CSA B137.5, and NSF/ANSI 14 standards, confirming suitability for drinking water contact and code-compliant installations.
Designed for use with 1 1/2-inch PEX tubing and barbed PEX fittings conforming to ASTM F1807 and ASTM F877 specifications in potable water systems.
Installation requires a calibrated PEX crimp tool sized for 1 1/2-inch rings. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before beginning work. After crimping, verify the connection with a go/no-go gauge to confirm proper ring compression. Follow all applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements for PEX installations.
