The ZOELLER ZOEL-53-0002 is a manual submersible effluent and dewatering pump built for moving wastewater and groundwater in residential and light commercial applications. It runs on 115 volts AC and delivers 0.3 horsepower at 1550 RPM, pushing up to 43 gallons per minute with a maximum head of 19.25 feet. The cast iron housing carries an epoxy powder coat finish for corrosion resistance. A single-seal design keeps the motor compartment protected during continuous submersed operation. This pump is installed by licensed plumbers or pump service technicians in sump pits, effluent tanks, and dewatering setups where a manual float switch or external controller handles on/off cycling.
The ZOEL-53-0002 suits residential effluent transfer and dewatering tasks such as removing accumulated groundwater from basements, crawlspaces, and construction excavations. It also fits light commercial dewatering where a compact, direct-discharge submersible is needed. The 1-1/2 inch NPT discharge outlet connects directly to standard schedule 40 PVC or threaded iron pipe. The 15-foot power cord provides enough reach for most standard sump or pit installations without requiring an extension. The Mighty-Mate series is designed for straightforward drop-in installation in tight wet-pit spaces.
Designed as an OEM-style submersible effluent and dewatering pump for residential sump pits, effluent holding tanks, and light commercial dewatering applications requiring a 1-1/2 inch NPT discharge and 115-volt single-phase power supply.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the applicable edition of the IPC. Disconnect and lock out power at the breaker before lowering or raising the pump in the pit. Verify the discharge pipe is properly supported and that the NPT connection is sealed with thread sealant rated for wastewater service. Do not run the pump dry, and confirm the pit has adequate liquid volume before energizing.
