The ZOELLER ZOEL-30-0164 is a 1-1/2 inch cast iron Unicheck valve designed to stop backflow in residential and commercial plumbing and pump discharge systems. It accepts standard female NPT pipe connections and installs in vertical or horizontal orientations without restriction to flow. The full-flow design eliminates internal obstructions, maintaining system efficiency. A neoprene polyester reinforced flapper with a smooth-edge design and cast iron and noncorrosive metal backing ensures reliable sealing on each cycle. The valve is rated at 50 psi, equivalent to 115 feet of head, at 130 degrees F, making it suitable for demanding pump and drainage applications. Licensed plumbers and pump system installers are the primary trades working with this component.
This valve is suited for installation in sump pump discharge lines, sewage pump systems, and general water handling applications where backflow prevention is required. It is designed for installation below a basin cover and works across a range of system configurations. Available connection sizes in the Unicheck line include standard, 1-1/4 inches, 1-1/2 inches, 2 inches, and 3 inches female NPT, giving installers flexibility across multiple pipe sizes on a job site.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation check valve for systems using 1-1/2 inch female NPT threaded pipe connections in residential and light commercial pump discharge or backflow prevention applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the IPC. Shut down and isolate the pump system and relieve any system pressure before removing or installing this valve. Both vertical and horizontal mounting orientations are supported; confirm flow direction aligns with the arrow or flapper orientation during installation. Do not overtighten NPT threaded connections, as cast iron fittings can crack under excessive torque.
