The ZOELLER ZOEL-153-0002 is a nonautomatic high head effluent pump rated at 0.5 HP and 115 volts, built for septic effluent and wastewater removal in demanding residential and light commercial applications. Powered by a permanent split capacitor (PSC) motor spinning at 3450 RPM, it delivers a maximum head of 44 feet and a maximum flow rate of 77 GPM. The cast iron motor housing, switch case, and pump housing provide long-term durability in submerged, corrosive environments. A licensed plumber or septic system contractor typically handles installation and commissioning of this unit.
This pump is suited for septic effluent systems, high-pressure pump tanks, and deep sump pit configurations where precise on/off control is required. Because the ZOEL-153-0002 is nonautomatic, it must be paired with a piggyback float switch or a control panel with control floats to set the start and stop points in the field. This flexibility makes it a practical fit for a wide range of pit depths and tank geometries. The 20-foot cord provides adequate reach in most standard pump tank installations, and the 1-1/2 inch NPT threaded discharge mates to common pipe sizes using the included PVC male adapter.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-install effluent pump for residential and light commercial septic systems requiring a nonautomatic 0.5 HP high head submersible pump with a 1-1/2 inch NPT discharge connection.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or septic system contractor in accordance with local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Disconnect and lock out all electrical power before servicing or repositioning the pump. Confirm float switch or control panel wiring is complete and set to the correct operating levels before energizing the unit. Do not run the pump dry, as sustained operation without liquid will damage the motor and void the warranty.
