The ZOELLER N98 is a nonautomatic 1/2 HP effluent pump built for sump and septic effluent applications where higher flow rates are required. Constructed with a cast iron motor housing and pump housing, the N98 is designed for long-term durability in demanding wet environments. The corrosion-resistant engineered plastic vortex impeller features a smooth surface that allows water and solids to pass freely through the pump body. Because the N98 is nonautomatic, it requires a piggyback float switch or a control panel for operation, giving the installer the ability to set on and off points in the field. All identification tags, the handle, and hardware are stainless steel. Licensed plumbers and septic system contractors are the typical installers of this unit.
The N98 is suited for residential and light commercial sump pits, septic effluent systems, and high-flow basement drainage applications. It is commonly specified when standard sump pump flow rates are insufficient for the application. The nonautomatic design makes it adaptable to a range of control strategies, including piggyback float switches and control panels, allowing precise level management in sumps and effluent tanks. Every unit is submerged and tested to its published performance curve at the factory before shipment.
Designed as a nonautomatic effluent pump for residential and light commercial sump pits and septic effluent systems. Requires a separately sourced piggyback float switch or control panel for automatic operation.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified septic system contractor in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Disconnect and lock out electrical power before handling or servicing the pump. Verify the sump pit dimensions and discharge pipe sizing are appropriate for the flow capacity of this unit before installation. Do not operate the pump dry, as it is designed for fully submerged service.
