The ZOELLER N292 is a non-automatic submersible sewage pump designed to transfer sewage or stormwater in lift station applications. Operating at 115 volts, it is built around a non-clogging vortex impeller capable of passing 2-inch spherical solids, making it well suited for high-head or high-flow sewage service. The motor housing and adapter are cast iron with cast-in-place fins that maximize heat dissipation during continuous operation. Oversized bearings add mechanical durability for demanding lift station environments. Licensed plumbers and pump service technicians are the primary installers of this unit.
The N292 is intended for residential and light commercial sewage lift stations where non-automatic operation is preferred, meaning the pump is controlled externally by a separate float switch or panel rather than an integrated switch. This configuration gives installers and system designers full control over switch placement and activation levels. It is a practical choice when existing controls are already in place or when custom switching arrangements are required for the specific basin geometry or flow conditions of the application.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-installation submersible sewage pump for residential and light commercial lift station basins requiring non-automatic 115-volt operation with a 2-inch solids-handling capability.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Disconnect and lock out all electrical power to the basin and associated control panel before handling the pump. Because the N292 is non-automatic, a separate float switch, relay, or control panel must be wired and set to the correct activation and deactivation levels before placing the pump in service. Never run a submersible sewage pump dry, as loss of liquid cooling can damage the motor.
